It’s nice to meet you…
When I was 4, I discovered the mysterious symbols lining the pages of my favorite book were not a secret code but a language I could learn. Since then, I’ve sought to understand all things literature related with utter joy and frequent bewilderment.
For me, literature is what binds reality and the self. What we are is everything we can imagine ourselves to be, and for me, that image is shaped by words.
Writing
- Original, literary fiction (short story, experimental, and novel-length works)
- Reflective and/or autobiographical essays
- Book reviews and literary articles
- Personalized copy (Bios, “About” segments, and Vision/Mission Statements)
Editing
- Developmental editing (short- and long-form prose and scripts)
- Structural and Characterization feedback
- Academic editing and proofreading
Writing
From traditionally, formatted narratives to experimental memoirs, I’m constantly seeking ways to write about the stuff that keeps me ticking.
By writing, I hope to examine the day-to-day realities of people with marginalized identities who are challenged by⏤and who challenge⏤normative standards. As a third culture kid growing up in 1990s America, the shifting concept of “selfhood” is a constant source of inspiration. Who “I” am is the question I find myself constantly chasing through the maze of the mind.
In short, writing is where I try to sort out what really matters…and why?
Editing
Here’s a secret: I have a thing for editing. Especially big edits, when the writing is really rough and the characters’ names keep changing every other page. Give me your unpolished thesis and half-finished story collection! I’m here for the big questions and the how-in-God’s-name-do-I-finish-this brainstorms.
With a background in creative writing, I’m able to set aside any Latinate notions of the English language. Whether you wish to write freely or to freely write, I’m here to help you figure what the hell you’re really trying to get at and the best way to put it down in words.
